Welcome to our Bed and
Breakfast and Gîtes in southern Brittany
Welcome to our countryside manor house, 1.5km from the village of La
Gacilly and 13km north of Redon (with TGV services). You will find a
host of attractions nearby, such as the Nantes - Brest canal, the
Vilaine river, the “Ile aux Pies” and the Paimpont and Brocéliande
forests. The sea and the Morbihan gulf are only 45 minutes away.
La Gacilly, situated in Morbihan, the department between Ille et Vilaine
and Loire Atlantique, is an ideal base for discovering Brittany and its
charms.
Bed and Breakfast
Our Breton manor house is a former Templar inn, cited in ancient
documents of the bishop of Vannes as the “Tay Inn” or “Tay Hotel”. It
dates from 1527 and served as an important resting place for Breton
battalions in days gone by.
This very old part of the manor house is home to our charming bed and
breakfast, with its beautifully decorated rooms - each with their own
private en-suite bathroom - and traditional furniture.
Guests are welcome to use the lounge area, where you can find games for
all the family, a TV, a video and a DVD player, as well as a selection
of books and magazines.
This vast living area (45m²) also has its
very own mini “tourist office”, where you can consult a variety of
tourist brochures on the surrounding areas and current events, walking
and mountain-biking maps and routes, and bridle paths. You can also
consult maps of Morbihan, Ille et Vilaine and Brittany to help you plan
your own excursions.
Our guest rooms, named Mélusine, Brocéliande and
Morbihan, guarantee the highest level of comfort whilst you are at
Clos du Tay, and a stay that you will remember for a long time.
Gastronomic Dining
Guests in both the Bed and Breakfast and
the Gîtes can enjoy a gastronomic experience simply by booking a table
d'hôtes (a gastronomic meal). We use carefully selected produce, with our meat and vegetables
all sourced locally.
Caroline is an inventive cook and our
menus and dishes evolve with the seasons and with what the local markets
have to offer.
To
accompany our dishes, we invite you to share our chosen wines and ciders
from Brittany, the Loire, the Southwest and Burgundy. As apéritif,
we serve homemade cocktails made with our elder or sloe liqueurs.
For breakfast we offer a variety of home made breads and brioches as
well as muesli and cereals. All our jams are homemade, usually with
fruits from the garden or from the local region, and include varieties
such as grape, lavender grape, tarragon grape, berry, elder, strawberry,
elder strawberry, green tomato, apple/cherry and quince.
Such a range of flavours provokes lively culinary discussion, allowing
us to share in our visitors’ gastronomic experiences.
